The Sauce
It all started when two roommates from opposite ends of North Carolina, came together late one night. Their goal was to create the perfect barbeque sauce. Creators Adam Compton and Cody Williams wanted to find the perfect balance between the sweetness of the tomato based Western N.C. style sauce, and the tanginess of the vinegar based Eastern N.C. style sauce. After many attempts, one recipe emerged above the rest. It was then that ACW Original BBQ Sauce was born! Not soon after, they met a friend Jay Overcash and the three made the perfect business partners, each bringing their own expertise
After using the sauce at barbeques across the state, one thing was clear; everyone loved it. When people began requesting to purchase the sauce, Adam, Jay and Cody decided to start selling their delicious and unique sauce.

Adam Compton
Adam has always had a love for barbeque; whether making it or eating it! Growing up in Cedar Grove, N.C. gave him a unique perspective on BBQ Sauce. No sauce, neither East nor West, was prominent. Adam never found a sauce that just hit the spot. Out of this grew his vision for a new niche of N.C. BBQ sauce. Adam always dreamed of being in business for himself, and what a better chance than something he love: BBQ!
Cody Williams
Cody has always had a love for Western N.C. style barbeque sauce. When he moved to Raleigh, N.C. to obtain an Agricultural Business Management degree from N.C. State, he wasn't quite sure what to think of the vinegar based barbeque sauce he found. His vision was to create the best barbeque sauce that anyone had ever tasted. Jay Overcash
North Carolina born and bred, Jay has been around all styles of North Carolina BBQ Sauce. After taking some ACW sauce to a pig pickin, he noticed that everyone chose ACW sauce over all the others. Jay, who has always wanted to help start a business, knew he had to be a part of the growing success of ACW. He found the perfect match in Adam and Cody who have the same drive and desire to succeed and make a product for which they can be proud.
